Here is the set up for this project. To make the lighting even darker, a light is attached to the music stand. Towels are used to adjust the strings by placing them on the tumbling hand, and to lay them over the hakama during the performance.

Dress for Performance
Cream-colored hakama with a pale blue hanhaba obi. Wasabi color Iromuji.

For concerts held at this venue, yoga mats are provided. We open the venue with the mats in a straight or slanted position, and then change the position with the audience before the performance starts. This time, we moved it much closer to the wall from the position shown in the photo. The wall is now used as a backrest for the audience. The concert is designed to be listened to while lying down, but of course you can sit down as well.

We asked one of the participants this time and he said that the great drama was the reason for his visit. Thank you for expanding your interest and visiting us. It was a pleasure. We hope to see you again. Once again, we are very grateful to the staff and owner of the venue. Thank you very much.

When I got home, I listened back to the production audio and all I could hear was the sound of the sandstorm… I did it…. Here are a few shots of the rehearsal instead. This is a shot of the voice and biwa on the day of the event.

Some parts may be difficult to hear due to the sound of the venue being left intact.

The same program is being performed on May 17 for the third time, so please come if you are interested. This is the last session. We look forward to seeing you at the venue.
